This Sunnah blend is a more powerful alternative to Ayurvedic Nasya Oil!

Umm Qais bint Mihsan said:
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'You should use Indian aloeswood for it contains seven cures, including (a cure for) pleurisy.'”

(Sunan Ibn Majah)

This soothing blend is designed to aid in the clearance of bacteria and viruses from the head, nose, and throat area.  Specially blended with a proprietary mix of oils to clear mucus and open up the respiratory tract.

Sassurea lappa (Inidan Aloeswood) and a proprietary blend of Black Seed, Thyme, and Mustard Seed Oils.

ALLERGEN ALERT:  The Mustard Seeds I used in this blend were processed in a facility that also processes nuts and wheat.

Shake well before using.  Children: 1-3 drops per nostril, as needed.  Adults:  1-10 drops per nostril, as needed.  Usually 1 drop per nostril per day while symptoms persists is sufficient.

Since this product acts as an expectorant, you may experience the dispelling of mucus and postnasal drainage when using this medicine.  Be sure to spray bleach where ever this mucus is released as to prevent spread of dis-ease.

COVID-19 Support:  Due to the anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-inflammatory properties of this formula, it may help in preventing COVID-19 from entering in the body through the nose, ears, and throat.

As a preventative method, rub some of the oil inside of the nostrils and ear canal before leaving home.  Upon returning home cleanse the ear, nose, and throat (garggle) then apply the oil to the ears and nose.

To administer this product lay on your back, neck under a pillow, head hanging off of the pillow in a decline position.  Administer the drops into each nostril.  Allow drops to enter into the nasal cavity by remaining in this position for 10-15 minutes.  You may feel some tingling sensation once the medicine reaches the back of the throat.   Please don't resist any natural inclinations to sneeze or cough as those all aid in the clearance of dis-ease.

This medicine can be used for a variety of dis-ease manifestations including;

  • Spiritual (Jinn possession, black majic);
  • Colds;
  • Sinus and allergy;
  • Viruses;
  • Ear Infections;
  • Throat Infections;
  • Viruses;
  • Toothaches/Abscesses
  • Respiratory Infections; and
  • Headaches.

Powerful Nasya Oil Alternative!

    Your health and safety is of great importance to me as a herbalist and so, it is my duty to inform about any possible complications of using any of my recommended treatments.  Lipoid pneumonia is a rare condition that can develop after ingesting oils (including essential oils) through swallowing, oil pulling, and/or nose applications.  In some cases the oil may be inhaled into the lungs and may cause Lipoid pnemonia.

    Again, development of this dis-ease is very rare and often occurs after large doses over a large span of time.  Here are examples of such cases;

    Longstanding use of intranasal petroleum jelly (Vaseline) at bedtime.

    Longstanding Sesame Oil pulling via nose and mouth.

    From each of these three cases we can see that the types of oils used and the duration of treatment were key factors in the development of Lipiod pneumonia.

    As Muslims, we have hadith that establish the proof of using olive oil and administering oil through the nose and situations of when that is appropriate and beneficial;

    Narrated Khalid bin Sa`d:

    We went out and Ghalib bin Abjar was accompanying us. He fell ill on the way and when we arrived at Medina he was still sick. Ibn Abi 'Atiq came to visit him and said to us, "Treat him with black cumin. Take five or seven seeds and crush them (mix the powder with oil) and drop the resulting mixture into both nostrils, for` Aisha has narrated to me that she heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, 'This black cumin is healing for all diseases except As-Sam.' Aisha said, 'What is As-Sam?' He said, 'Death. "

    (Sahih Bukhari)

    It is also part of the Sunnah to seek treatment by someone knowlegeable in the area of medicine when possible to get the proper reccommendations based upon your circumstance.  The dosages that I have recommended above is for acute illnesses only and this medicine is designed to be used treat those illness on a short-term basis

    There are a few precautions that you can take to avoid developing Lipoid pneumonia when using this (or any oil based product);

    1. Avoid administering the drops before bedtime to allow the oil to travel down the throat as opposed to entering the airways during sleep;
    2. Lubricating the back of the nostril with a q-tip or finger.  This method will serve to lubricate the nasal passages and is more appropriate for those with mild sinus and headache symptoms.  It is less appropriate for those with ear and throat dis-ease manifestations as the oil should penetrate these areas and won't do so with a q-tip / finger application.
    3. Start with the lowest dosage / day.  Children and adults both benefit from just 1 drop of oil, per nostril, per day.  Higher dosages should only be considered 1) for progressive dis-ease manifestations 2) under the recommendation of a doctor or knowledgable herbalists.

    The Sunnah is to administer Qist Al-Hindi (to children in particular) via the nose with a mixture of herb and water;

    "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Aisha رضي الله عنه and saw a boy with a bleeding nose and said; "What is this?"  They said, "He is suffering from tonsillitis, or a headache."  Heﷺ said; "Woe unto you!  Do not kill your children!  Let the mother whose child is suffering from tonsillitis or headache scrube Indian costus (ales) with water and then administer it to the child through the nose."  When Aisha رضي الله عنه ordered that the prescription be followed, the boy was cured. [Ahmad, Al Hakim, Abu Ya'la, and Al-Bazzar]

    There are other narrations of this hadith which imply that Indian costus may be inhaled (the actual powder or via steam inhalation).  These preparations can be purchased here:

    In essence a water preparation (as recommened for children) formulation is simply a tea which has a short shelf life and should be discarded after 7 days.  I do make these preparations with the correct medicinal dosage for adults and children.  These preparations are made with ZamZam water they are sent with overnight shipping for clients of my free herbal clinic (clients pay the cost of all medicines).   This preparation is available here:

    Most Muslim companies offering oil based Qist Al-Hindi drops do so because is makes the oil shelf stable (it can last for years when stored properly) and also because of the statement (which is not specific to children but more general);

    It was narrated that Zaid bin Arqam said:
    “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prescribed Wars (memecyclon tinctorium), Indian aloeswood and olive oil for pleurisy, to be administered through the side of the mouth.”

    (Sunan Ibn Majah)

    Administering oil through the side of the mouth in medicine is called the buccal administration method.  It allows for fast penetration of medication into the bloodstream.

    So, as we can see the methods of administering oil through the mouth and nose are all valid and permissable methods in Islam and recommended.  However, proper precautions should be taken to ensure the proper dosage and treatment duration is given.  If you have any questions about this product and how to use it for your needs please reach out to me via the forum.  JazakAllahu Khair. Ameen.
